It’s the Carolina version of the Hunger Games. Be sure to join Campus Rec, MASALA (UNC’s multicultural organization), the Interfraternity Council and Alpha Phi Alpha in competing in the 2012 Global Gladiator Games!
Grab some friends and compete in the five action-packed GGG events, which will take place at Hooker Fields 1 and 2. The five challenges:
- Jousting (without the horses, full metal costumes and the spears of course)
- Sniper
- Wheel Barrow Relay (be sure to work out those arm muscles beforehand!)
- Obstacle Course Relay
- Tug-of-War (bringing it back to elementary school)
Think you’d be a pro at these events? Get a team together and register so that you can be the ultimate gladiators. Or, if you’re feeling competitive but don’t have a team, you can register as an individual and Campus Rec will place you on a team. Carolina students, faculty or staff members can compete in one of three divisions: men’s, women’s and co-rec.
The competition will take place Wednesday, April 11 at 5:30 p.m. Check-in takes place the day of the event from 5:00-5:25 and you can register from March 19th through April 10th. Register as a team at the Campus Rec Main Office in the SRC or register as an individual online.
